Who were your biggest musical influences and why?

Genesis were probably my biggest influence. Especially Peter Gabrial. His way of singing, his lyrics and his showmanship all rubbed off on me. My biggest musical idol of all time.

Do you remember your first-ever gig?

Yes, it was Kibbutz Afek in Israel. At the end of 1979. I played with four very good Israeli musicians in the kibbutz clubhouse. First song was 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond'. I remember it particularly well, coz the good-looking lead guitar player ran off with my then girlfriend.

What is your all-time favourite song?

Maggie May by Rod Stewart.

What is your all-time favourite LP/CD?

Selling England By The Pound by Genesis. One of the greatest pieces of music ever produced.

What is your favourite M & EM song?

Find Some Time. Very proud of that one.

 Worst-ever gig?

Oh, there have been a few. But probably the infamous 'play Wonderwall' gig. We played in an Irish pub in front of a load of British drunks. The lead drunk shouted that at us all night. I still hate that song.....

 Most memorable gig?

There have been a few of them, too. But probably Schwalbach im Taunus in 1981 with EYESBERG. We played to a packed town hall with me as the singer for the first time. We literally brought the house down.

Did you have a childhood ambition?

Yes, I wanted to be a bus driver.

What is your ambition now?

To stay happy and healthy.

Which person do you admire the most, and why?

My late sister, Maureen, God bless her. She was an inspiration to all of us (another four sisters and my brother and myself). Such a loving person, always smiling, never a bad word to say about anyone.  Why do the good die young?

Which person do you most despise?

Life is too short to despise.

What is your idea of true happiness?

Spending time with my grown-up children.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I wish I wasn't so modest and humble.....

Tell us one thing we don't know about you?

I am terrifed of flying.
